Physical remand
In the Karachi City Court, Judicial Magistrate Central, Madad Ali Khoso, granted police a five-day physical remand of the man accused of torturing his wife and making obscene videos.
The police produced the arrested accused Tahir Abbas before the court.
The Investigating Officer (IO) requested the court to grant remand, citing the need to further interrogate the accused
due to the serious allegations made by the complainant and the recovery of the said videos.
During the hearing, Tahir’s ex-wife appeared in court, revealing that she too had suffered abuse and torture from the accused. She also claimed that the accused was affiliated with a secret cult.
In response, the accused maintained that all allegations against him were baseless, and in fact his wife's activities were suspicious.
The defence lawyer argued that if there are allegations of violence, the wife and daughter should undergo a medical examination. The investigator did not tell the court that the videos were found.
The court granted the police a five-day physical remand of the accused, directing them to submit a progress report at the next hearing. A case was registered against the accused by his wife, police stated.
