John Mayer took to Instagram to honor his late friend, comedian Bob Saget, on what would have been his 68th birthday, reflecting on the cherished moments they shared and the deep loss felt since Saget's unexpected passing in January 2022.

In a post featuring a selfie of the duo, Mayer expressed his ongoing grief and the moments he misses Saget the most. "I miss you the most when I’m exhausted and I just want to talk to my friend. I missed you when this magician was performing at this party I was at, and he was just okay, and I knew you’d have interjected with insanely funny one-liners, even if I couldn’t imagine what you would have said," Mayer wrote.

"Loss may be out of our control, but remembrance is our act of defiance. And we will never forget you. Love you Bob. Happy Birthday."

Kelly Rizzo, Saget's widow, also shared memories online, posting a photo from their last birthday celebration together, and remarking on Saget's lasting impact: "Forever celebrated, forever loved, forever remembered, forever in all of our hearts."

Further tributes poured in from Saget's "Full House" costars, including John Stamos, who posted a group picture from a gathering at his home after Saget’s funeral. "Though Bob wasn’t there physically, his spirit was unmistakably present, wrapping us in warmth and shared memories that drew both laughter and tears," Stamos shared.

Mayer and Saget shared a close bond, evident in their frequent dinners in Los Angeles and collaborations at charity events. Their friendship was marked by significant moments, such as Saget traveling to Brazil for Mayer’s 40th birthday and Mayer performing at Saget’s wedding in 2018.
