Muni Long has collaborated with Mariah Carey on the remix of Long's viral sensation "Made For Me".
The track was released on Tuesday night, May 21st, through Supergiant Records/Def Jam Recordings.
In a press release, Carey expressed her immediate agreement when Jermaine Dupri approached her for the remix: “When I got the call from JD to work on the ‘Made For Me’ remix, I said yes immediately. Muni is an amazing writer and performer, and this collaboration is a match made in heaven.”
Following earlier hints this month, the remix of "Made For Me" comes eight months after Long's original release of the song. This marks her second appearance in the Billboard Hot 100 top 20, following her platinum breakthrough hit "Hrs and Hrs" in 2022, which reached No. 16.
“Hrs and Hrs” claimed the title of best R&B performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where Muni Long was also nominated for best R&B song and best new artist.
Long showcased "Made For Me" tonight on the season 25 finale of NBC’s The Voice.
"Made For Me" has held the top spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for seven weeks and on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for four weeks.
Before teaming up with Mimi, Long had dropped alternative remixes of "Made For Me" featuring Lil Jon & Kronic, BNYX, and others. Furthermore, the R&B singer-songwriter performed the track at the 2023 BET Soul Train Awards.
Long, whose real name is Priscilla Renea, is presently up for the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and the Viewer's Choice Award for "Made For Me" at the 2024 BET Awards, where she is also scheduled to take the stage.
