Kevin Costner brought not only the Western spirit but also a sense of family to this year's Cannes Film Festival. The celebrated actor and director, accompanied by five of his seven children, walked the red carpet in grand style for the premiere of 'Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1.'

Costner, whose career has long been intertwined with the Western genre, has poured his heart, soul, and considerable financial resources into this passion project, which promises to be a sweeping quadrilogy.

The premiere was a dazzling affair, with Costner and his sons in classic black tuxedos and his daughters Annie and Lily in glamorous gowns, all wearing matching black sunglasses adding to the glamour.

However, not all of Costner's family could attend; his children Joe and Liam, along with former partner Christine Baumgartner and rumored current love interest, singer Jewel, were notably absent.

'Horizon: An American Saga' is an ambitious endeavor, with Costner personally investing $20 million and even mortgaging his home to see the $90 million project come to life.

"When no one wanted to make the first one, I got the bright idea to make four," Costner remarked during a press conference earlier this year.

The saga has already completed its second chapter and has begun production on the third, with the first film premiering on June 28 and the second on August 16.

While the Cannes audience seemed to embrace the film, critics have been mixed in their responses. David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter described 'Horizon' as a "clumsy slog," indicating that the film might struggle to live up to Costner’s previous successes.

Costner's star-studded event included appearances by Sienna Miller, Jena Malone, and other notable cast members, alongside industry giants like Oliver Stone and Julianne Moore, who came out to support the film.
