Another suspect in the killing of a Dolphin Force personnel in Rawalpindi was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Tank on Sunday.
The accused, linked to a banned organisation, was wanted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Rawalpindi.
According to sources, Imran alias Younis escaped with his accomplice after the attack on the Dolphin Force officers on Mall Road. Two of his colleagues were already killed in a firing incident with CTD Rawalpindi.
The suspects had been present at a private hospital in Rawalpindi for the treatment of an injured colleague and were returning when they encountered the Dolphin Force personnel on Mall Road Saddar.
During the crossfire on Murree Road, the accused killed a Dolphin Force officer and injured another before fleeing. The police found photographs and arms licenses of the accused in the vehicle. Two accused were hiding in Bhabra Bazar, while one was hiding on a deserted roof. He was arrested with the help of CCTV and human intelligence and handed over to CTD.
The two accused who escaped were later killed by their colleagues in Mandira and Rawat area of GT Road.
Police sources confirmed that three accused have been killed so far after the attack on the Dolphin Force.
