Zac Brown, frontman of the Zac Brown Band, is in the midst of a legal battle with his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi. Brown was recently granted a temporary restraining order against Yazdi following an Instagram post she made that Brown alleges violated a confidentiality agreement.
The couple, who were married last August after Brown proposed in Hawaii, announced their separation just a few months later in February 2024.
Yazdi, a former employee of the Zac Brown Band, included a caption on an Instagram post, dated May 4, that appeared to reference Brown, using terms like “narcissistic abuse,” “projections,” and “gaslighting.”
Brown, 45, filed a lawsuit in Georgia seeking the removal of the post and to prevent Yazdi, 33, from making any further public statements deemed defamatory. Brown claims Yazdi's actions breach a confidentiality agreement signed during their employment relationship.
“After much deliberation, I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us,” Brown said in a statement. “My only hope is for us to keep private matters private and move forward with mutual respect.”
The news comes as the Zac Brown Band prepares for their upcoming tour. Bandmate John Driskell Hopkins, who is battling ALS, has assured fans he'll be joining the tour despite his condition.
