Jake Gyllenhaal took the stage to perform a monologue as well as a skit alongside singer Sabrina Carpenter during the season finale of Saturday Night Live.

However, the internet seems more interested in the off-screen connection, or lack thereof, between the two stars.

Many users posted photos on X of the two stars covered in blood while playing the roles of Fred and Daphne in a Scooby-Doo-themed skit, alluding to their separate connections to Taylor Swift.

Earlier, the internet erupted with references to Taylor Swift's hit song ‘All Too Well’ after the promotional video featuring Gyllenhaal and Carpenter for the SNL episode dropped.

Gyllenhaal is widely believed to be the inspiration behind the song's heartbreaking lyrics, while Carpenter served as Swift's opening act for ‘The Eras Tour’ earlier this year. This connection, a reference to a lyric in the song, sent social media into a frenzy.

Fans flooded social media with ‘All Too Well’ memes and jokes about the unexpected pairing, with some referencing the infamous 'red scarf' in the song.

Carpenter also notably performed three of her hit songs, ‘Espresso,’ ‘Feather,’ and ‘Nonsense,’ for which she sang an SNL-themed outro.
