John Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert on the hit NBC sitcom ‘The Office’ for nine seasons, finally confessed to stealing a prized prop from the set on his last day of filming.

During an appearance on the rewatch podcast Office Ladies, hosted by his former co-stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, Krasinski reminisced about the emotional final moments of filming. He described how creator Greg Daniels took the cast to shoot a scene at Poor Richard's pub, a frequent hangout for the characters on the show.

After filming the scene, Krasinski recalled the crew gathering together and Daniels announcing, "That's the end of The Office."

Krasinski described the moment as "the scariest, most beautiful, horrific moment of my life."

However, the emotional farewell wasn't the only memorable event of the day.

Krasinski, also the director of the films ‘A Quiet Place’ and ‘IF,’ revealed that he took the Dunder Mifflin company sign after the crew wrapped.

"I've always lied to Greg that I didn't take it, but I did. I stole it," Krasinski admitted.

Kinsey, who played Angela Martin on the show, corroborated Krasinski's story, stating she witnessed him putting the sign in his car. "It was one of my favorite memories" of the last day, Kinsey said.

According to Krasinski, the exchange was not exactly discreet. "I was like, don't look over here!" he said, referencing the fact it was not quite dark enough and he looked like he was "putting a body in a car."

Krasinski also mentioned that Daniels later approached him at the wrap party to inquire about the missing sign.

Krasinski stuck to his story, denying any knowledge of its whereabouts. "He goes, 'Aw, that was the one thing I wanted,'" Krasinski recalled Daniels saying.

Kinsey admitted she never revealed this detail before, but with a laugh, Krasinski pointed out, "Well, now you did. You told everyone. And I was dressed like a cat burglar."

This revelation comes amidst news of a new series set in the same universe as The Office.

The untitled show, created by Daniels and Michael Koman, received a series order from Peacock last week.

Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott on ‘The Office,’ recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the new series.

While he expressed excitement about the concept, Carell confirmed he would not be making an appearance. "It's just a new thing and there's really no reason for my character to show up in something like that," Carell explained.
