Shia LaBeouf, aged 37, was captured on the red carpet for the first time in four years.

At the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in France on May 16, the "Transformers" actor was spotted sporting a black tuxedo and newly dyed blond hair. LaBeouf's appearance was for the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola's star-studded film Megalopolis.

The actor, whose most recent official red carpet appearance was at the 2020 Oscars, was accompanied by several of his co-stars at the event. The attendees included Adam Driver, Jon Voight, Giancarlo Esposito, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Chloe Fineman, and Nathalie Emmanuel.

According to a report from Variety, LaBeouf stood towards the end of the cast on the red carpet and maintained a low profile.

In the dystopian world of Megalopolis, LaBeouf takes on the role of Clodio Pulcher. Reports suggest that the film features scenes of the "Disturbia" star dressed in drag, embodying a character reminiscent of Trump.

Regarding LaBeouf, his most recent on screen appearance was in the 2022 film "Padre Pio." While he was initially set to star in Olivia Wilde's "Don't Worry Darling," which also premiered that year, he eventually left the project. LaBeouf stated that he chose to depart from the film, countering the director's claim that he was fired.

In a letter published by Variety, LaBeouf wrote to Wilde:

“Firing me never took place, Olivia. And while I fully understand the attractiveness of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. It is not the truth. So I am humbly asking, as a person with an eye toward making things right, that you correct the narrative as best you can."

He also expressed, "I hope none of this negatively affects you, and that your film is successful in all the ways you want it to be."

Later, Wilde reiterated her assertion that she dismissed the actor from "Don't Worry Darling," stating that she opted to part ways with him after lead actress Florence Pugh felt uncomfortable with his conduct during pre-production.
