Sophie Turner finally speaks out on her divorce with Joe Jonas

The actress reveals struggles with depression amid fallout from divorce with the singer.

Sophie Turner has shared her experience with depression and anxiety amid her divorce from Joe Jonas in a recent Vogue interview.

The Game of Thrones actress addressed the media attention on her divorce and described that period as the “worst few days of her life.”

“I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,' Sophie told Vogue. “There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it.

“And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for.”

During that period, Sophie was in the United Kingdom filming the television series ‘Joan,’ while Joe and their two daughters, Willa, aged four, and Delphine, aged one, were in the United States.

“I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out…,” Turner recalled.

Following the news online, rumors spread that Sophie's alleged excessive partying caused their split, particularly fueled by photos of her enjoying a night out with co-stars shortly before Joe filed for divorce.

Turner said, “I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mom and you’ve never been a partier.’

"A picture might tell a thousand words, but it’s not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, hadn’t produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I’m still in shock.” Turner continued.

In her Vogue interview, Sophie acknowledged her struggles with depression and anxiety.

“I’m not very good at processing my emotions. I lock them away and then they’ll bubble up in years to come in some form of depression or anxiety,' the actress shared.

Joe and Sophie began their relationship in 2016, with Joe proposing after a year. They subsequently eloped in Las Vegas in 2019, followed by a wedding in France that same summer.

Sophie acknowledged her close friends, including Taylor Swift, for their support during the challenging period following her widely covered divorce from Joe last year.
