Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who endured a tumultuous childhood under the care of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, took to TikTok this Mother's Day to honour the "strong and wonderful" mother figures in her life.
While acknowledging the complexities of her relationship with her late mother, Gypsy chose to focus on forgiveness and remembering the good times.
"What I choose to feel on Mother's Day regarding my own mother is that I think the best of her," Gypsy shared in her video.
She admitted that her mother wasn't perfect but emphasised that her feelings about Dee Dee are hers alone.
Gypsy believes that only she and her family are entitled to have opinions about her mother.
Dee Dee Blanchard was found murdered in 2015, a crime Gypsy was involved in with her then-boyfriend.
Gypsy served seven years in prison for her role in the murder and was released on parole in December 2023.
Despite the hardships she faced, including being subjected to Munchausen syndrome by proxy by her mother, Gypsy is actively working towards forgiveness.
She chooses to remember the good in her mother's heart and hopes that Dee Dee is proud of her achievements.
In her video, Gypsy also expressed gratitude for her stepmother, Kristy Blanchard, her boyfriend's mother, Raina Williams, and a family friend known as Aunt Vickie.
She concluded her message with a prayer for her mother, vowing to remember the good within her.
