Power generation: Electricity shortfall eases

Shortfall in the country dropped to 3,310MW on Tuesday from 3,400MW as total power generation stood at 13,495MW.

ISLAMABAD: Electricity shortfall in the country dropped slightly to 3,310MW on Tuesday from 3,400MW as total power generation stood at 13,495MW against demand of 16,805MW during the past 24 hours, according to the daily power generation briefing. Hydel generation stood at 6,106MW, Wapda thermal at 1,552MW, Independent Power Producers generated 5,717MW while rental power added 120MW. Hydel generation witnessed the highest increase as Tarbela dam attained its maximum conservation level of 1,550 feet. As many as 670MW was supplied to the Karachi Electric Supply Company, the report further said.
