Ed Sheeran’s Met Gala look sparks comparisons to High School Musical

The singer’s light blue suit was mocked, with several people recalling Troy Bolton’s outfit in High School Musical 3.

Ed Sheeran's shimmering light blue suit at the 2024 Met Gala sparked a wave of online comparisons to Zac Efron's character Troy Bolton in the High School Musical series. 

The British singer's outfit, complete with a matching rhinestone tie, made fans recall Troy's iconic prom scene in High School Musical 3. 

In a viral post on X, one user posted two pictures, comparing Sheeran with a GIF of Troy Bolton in his tuxedo scene from the movie.

While some critiqued his outfit,  others praised the singer for embracing a unique style  compared to more traditional choices from co-chairs Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth. 

The night also saw show-stopping looks from Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, and a range of celebrities.

Doja Cat sported a confusing look, seeming mid-preparation for the event in her towel outfit on the red carpet.
