Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and SpaceX founder Elon Musk have engaged in playful banter on X.
Musk recently urged Rowling to refrain from sharing her views on transgenderism on Twitter, suggesting that the “Harry Potter” author focus instead on posting “interesting and positive” content on the platform he owns.

“While I heartily agree with your points regarding sex/gender, may I suggest also posting interesting and positive content on other matters?” The 52-year-old billionaire wrote on Twitter on Saturday, responding to a nearly month-old post by Rowling in which she offered her definition of a woman which relied on biology.
Rowling, 58, humorously responded to Musk’s tweet, making it clear that she won't be taking his advice.
“I just realized that I missed being advised to share more positive content yesterday…” she wrote in response to Elon.
She also shared an article about an interview she did with The Sunday Times, jokingly saying, “sharing this about my writing life, which happens to have been published today in The Sunday Times, should in no way be interpreted as me doing as I’m told”

Rowling, 58, has frequently expressed her views on womanhood on Twitter, leading to criticism and even death threats from trans rights activists over the years.
Musk's request is particularly interesting considering his own controversial tweets about transgender-related issues.
In July 2020, the Tesla CEO tweeted, “Pronouns suck,” and later that year followed up with a post that said, “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”
