French actor Gérard Depardieu was taken into custody at a Paris police station for allegedly assaulting two female workers on film sets.
The 75-year-old, who is already under investigation for similar crimes including rape, is accused of abusing production staff during the filming of two movies.
One incident reportedly occurred during the filming of "Les Volets Verts" (The Green Shutters) in 2022, while the other allegedly happened during "Le Magician et les Siamois" (The Magician and the Siamese) in 2015.
In 2020, the actor was charged with the rape of actor Charlotte Arnould, when she was 22-years-old in 2018. The case remains open.
A separate case was brought by actor Hélène Darras but was dropped by prosecutors for being past the statute of limitations.
He has also been accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen women.
A source involved in the investigation stated on Monday: “Mr Depardieu was summoned to appear at a Paris police station today and is currently in custody.”
Adding that, “he is being questioned for two alleged sexual assaults that occurred in 2014 and 2021.”
Depardieu has denied all accusations against him.
The French actor has appeared in over 250 films since 1967, gaining fame for his roles in movies like "Green Card" and "The Last Metro."
He is the second highest-grossing actor in French cinema history, following Louis de Funès, and is known for portraying numerous historical and fictional figures, including Georges Danton and Christopher Columbus.
