RAWALPINDI:

A woman gave birth to sextuplets —four sons and two daughters —following an extensive operation.

According to the sources, Zeenat Waheed, a resident of Hazara Colony, Rawalpindi, belongs to the Bajaur Agency.

Some time ago she gave birth to a daughter who passed away in infancy, traumatising the woman and her husband. On Friday, she was blessed simultaneously with six children after a major operation.

District Headquarters Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr Farzana Zafar, had formed a team of the most expert doctors for the major operation. The six infants have been transferred to the nursery.

The woman’s husband does a private job in the medical field. Meanwhile, in the hospital, these children have been provided with complete security and treatment facilities in the nursery.

Dr Zafar said the mother and her six children were healthy with no complications. The prolonged operation was successful. The hospital administration expressed their joy over the arrival of the sextuplet and ensured that the family was provided with all the medical support and facilities during their stay.
