KARACHI:

Eidul Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Wednesday (today) with religious fervour.

The Eid prayer gatherings will take place at approximately 4200 locations across the city. To ensure the safety and security for worshippers, around 13,000 security personnel will be deployed at Eidgahs, mosques, and imambargahs throughout the city.

The largest Eid prayer congregation in Karachi is scheduled to be held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah [Polo Ground], managed by the Karachi Municipal Corporation (LMC). Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, foreign ambassadors, political and social leaders, as well as members of the National and Provincial Assembly, are expected to join a large number of citizens in offering Eid prayers at Polo Ground.

Preparations for the traditional Eid prayer gathering at Polo Ground have been finalised. Flags of Islamic countries have been raised to signify solidarity. Adequate facilities for ablution and other necessities have been arranged for citizens attending the Eid prayers. The Eidul Fitr prayer is scheduled for 8am at Polo Ground, with the sermon to be delivered by the Imam of the main mosque of KMC.

In cities and towns across the province, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas, and Tharparkar, prayers will be offered during Eidul Fitr gatherings for the integrity, development, and prosperity of the country.
