The plot tells the story of young Furiosa, who is abducted from her sanctuary, the Green Place of Many Mothers, and thrust into the clutches of the formidable Biker Horde led by Warlord Dementus.

Amidst the chaos of warring tyrants – Dementus and the Citadel's ruler, Immortan Joe – Furiosa embarks on a perilous journey, facing numerous trials to secure her path back home.

Furiosa, co-written by Miller and Nico Lathouris, is the fifth film in Miller’s Wasteland saga, preceded by Mad Max (1979), Mad Max II: The Road Warrior (1981), and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985).

The ensemble cast features Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe, Tom Burke as the War Rig driver Praetorian Jack, and former WWE wrestler Nathan Jones playing Rictus Erectus.

Returning from Fury Road, John Howard reprises his role as the People Eater, while Angus Sampson returns as the Organ Mechanic. Daniel Webber joins as a War Boy, and Charlee Fraser portrays Mary Jo Bassa, Furiosa's mother.

Taylor-Joy described Furiosa during Brazil’s CCXP fan convention as "a story of grit, survival, and impossible hope."

Hemsworth also spoke about his character, "There's an intensity to him there's a brutality," Hemsworth said. "He has been birthed into a space where it's kill or be killed, and he's learned to rule with an iron fist. There's a charisma to him, and it's a manipulative charisma."

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga comes to theaters on May 24.
