In the Netflix film, Prince Andrew’s obsession with teddy bears is depicted openly.

Prince Andrew's teddy bear obsession takes center stage in the new Netflix film, "Scoop". The film, which revisits his friendship with disgraced pedophile Jeffery Epstein and his disastrous Newsnight interview, features a scene highlighting his peculiar fixation.

In the scene, Andrew (played by Rufus Sewell) reacts to news of Epstein's arrest. The camera cuts to a palace maid (Mia Threapleton, Kate Winslet’s daughter) arranging teddy bears on his bed, but she places them in the wrong order, likely leading to his displeasure.

"How many times?" an exasperated Duke says to her. "How many times?"

"I'm sorry," she says.

Picking up one teddy bear, he asks in a patronising tone: "Where does he go? Simple question. Where does he go? A clue: He's a marsupial. 'Roo', as in 'kanga', put them together, what do you get?"

"Roo-kanga," she says, after a brief pause.

"Go away! Go away!" an angry Andrew shouts.

The Duke's fascination with his teddies was rooted in a longstanding habit. According to The Sun, Andrew revealed in 2010: "I've always collected teddy bears. During my time in the navy, I'd buy a little teddy bear from everywhere I went, building a worldwide collection."

The film is now streaming on Netflix.
