Kristen Dunst has said that beyond the excitement of filming 'Spiderman' and her bond with Sofia Coppola during the production of 'Virgin Suicides', there was a darker side to being a young actress in Hollywood.
Kristen Dunst's journey in Hollywood began when she was only three years old.
The actress, who is now 38 years old, told GQ magazine that producers on the ‘Spiderman’ set took her to the dentist without warning.
They wanted her to straighten her teeth. She told the producer at the time, "No, I like my teeth."
Even with all the pressure, Dunst found comfort in her friendship with Sofia Coppola. Coppola, who is now 52, cast the actress in her film 'The Virgin Suicides' in 1999.

Coppola accepted Dunst, which reinforced her belief in staying true to herself.
Reflecting on Hollywood's obsession with plastic surgery, Dunst said:
“I still know to this day, I’m not gonna screw up my face and look like a freak. You know what I mean? I’d rather get old and do good roles.” She told the magazine.
While facing challenges, Dunst also experienced a darker reality. She received inappropriate advances from a director.
“I had one director ask me something in a meeting for a movie that was inappropriate,” she recalled.
She added: “It was really not a cool question to ask. You can only imagine. That was the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
Nowadays, Dunst is strong after facing Hollywood's challenges. She picks roles that resonate with her values and remains committed to authenticity.
