K-Pop band NCT’s former member Lucas blazes solo trail with "Renegade"

Lucas had been a member of K-pop band NCT since 2018. His exit from the group was confirmed last year.

Lucas, a former member of NCT, made his solo debut and released the "Renegade" music video, which is the lead title track.

 

The K-pop idol released two distinct music videos for "Renegade," both uploaded on SM Entertainment's official YouTube channel.

Lucas made his debut in the K-pop scene back in 2018 when he joined the group NCT U, showcasing his talents as a rapper, singer, and model.

However, the artist stepped away from the limelight in 2021 following a controversy, and his departure from NCT was confirmed in May 2023.

Notably, in his debut, the artist received criticism from the blog 'Asian Junkie,' which described his rapping as subpar, stating, "it's just difficult to take seriously when the rapping is so mediocre."

The blogger also commented that “ the chorus/hook is just a bit of a bore, and the vocal effects seem out of place.”

Despite these critiques, the videos have collectively amassed over a million views since their release yesterday.
