Timothée Chalamet has been fully immersing himself into the role of Bob Dylan for his upcoming biopic, A Complete Unknown. New photos from the New York City set continue to surface, showcasing the actor's transformation into the legendary folk musician.

This week, Chalamet was spotted filming in Downtown Manhattan, sporting a vintage Dylan look: curly hair, sunglasses (despite the nighttime setting), a black button-up, and a brown jacket. The scenes were shot around El Quijote, the restaurant located within the Hotel Chelsea, a place known for inspiring Dylan's music.

The actor was also seen during a daytime park shoot, where director James Mangold guided Chalamet through a scene involving reading a letter on a bench.

Earlier set photos revealed Chalamet in other iconic Dylan outfits, including a 60s-era paperboy hat, scarf, and jeans while carrying a weathered guitar case.

He was also photographed beside a classic car packed with luggage.

Chalamet's connection to the role dates back to 2020.The film is directed by James Mangold, known for his work on Logan and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Mangold focuses on Dylan's pivotal 1965 career shift, when he controversially embraced rock 'n' roll and the electric guitar.

Mangold previously confirmed that Chalamet will handle his own vocals for the Dylan role.

"It's such an amazing time in American culture and the story of Bob's — a young 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with two dollars in his pocket and becoming a worldwide sensation within three years," the filmmaker told Collider last year. "First being embraced into a family of folk music in New York and of course kind of outrunning him at."

Deadline reported that Edward Norton will portray folk singer Pete Seeger and Elle Fanning will star as Dylan's love interest, Sylvie Russo.
