With Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s recent visit to India having set Indian social media alight with images tracking her whereabouts, it has emerged that the star may soon be finalising her upcoming Hindi film in collaboration with filmmaker and composer Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an action film set in a different time period, reported Pinkvilla.

“She is meeting Bhansali now to decide on the timeline, schedule and costumes,” said a source close to the star. According to Hindustan Times, Priyanka, who is acutely aware of the public interest in her career, has been assessing different scripts and scheduled meetings with a number of filmmakers before embarking on her next project.

Meanwhile, the source reported that as well as potentially working with Priyanka this year, Bhansali also slated to work with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal for his upcoming film Love and War, set to release in December 2025.

With Priyanka’s visit to India revolving solely around business, the same source shared that in addition to working on the movie with Bhansali, Priyanka is also focusing on her production house. Priyanka’s production company Purple Pebble Pictures recently partnered with Awedacious Originals to create Women Of My Billions, a documentary on women who have been victims of violence. Directed by Ajitesh Sharma, the documentary details a woman’s journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Priyanka was last seen in the film Love Again and the web series Citadel alongside Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci. She was expected to feature in Farhan Akhtar's much-talked-about Jee Le Zaraa with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, but bowed out due to scheduling conflicts. In addition to her various acting projects, Priyanka’s calendar is also full with non-acting ventures. She is listed as an executive producer for the Academy Award-nominated documentary To Kill a Tiger.

With such a busy schedule both in front of and behind the camera, it is hopeful that it will not be long before Priyanka returns to delight fans with another on-screen performance, whatever the time period it may be set in.
