Ariana Grande says "thank u, next", as divorce with Dalton Gomez finalised with $1.25m settlement

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez’s divorce has been finalized. Ariana has to pay $1.25 million to Dalton as part of their divorce proceedings. They separated in early 2023.

Thanks to their prenuptial agreement and the lack of children or complex legal issues, the divorce proceedings were straightforward and quick.

The former couple had agreed to the terms of the settlement back in October 2023 but were waiting for a judge to sign it off.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE revealed that Grande would pay Gomez a one-time settlement of $1,250,000. Gomez would not receive spousal support, and his payment would be tax-free and delivered upfront.

Additionally, as part of their agreement, Gomez would receive half of the net proceeds from the sale of their former Los Angeles home. Grande would also cover up to $25,000 of his attorney fees.

This settlement followed Grande's filing for divorce in September 2023, to which Gomez immediately responded. While their date of separation was listed as Feb. 20, 2023, the couple's split was first reported in July 2023. A source revealed at the time that Grande and Gomez were "taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately."

The now-exes began their relationship in January 2020 and went public in May of that year, appearing together in the music video for Grande's song with Justin Bieber, "Stuck with U". In December 2020, they announced their engagement when Grande shared a photo of her ring captioned, "Forever n then some."

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Grande's Montecito, California home on May 15, 2021. "It was tiny and intimate – less than 20 people," her rep told PEOPLE exclusively at the time. "The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn't be happier."

After news of their split broke in July 2023, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Grande was dating her Wicked costar Ethan Slater, 31. Slater was previously married to Lilly Jay and shares a young son with her.
