Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' Divorce Saga Continues: Child Custody Dispute Heats Up

Actress Sophie Turner is reactivating her divorce proceedings from musician Joe Jonas. Her attorneys took legal action in Miami-Dade County, Florida, to move the divorce case forward. The former couple are still on good terms.

The divorce proceedings were previously paused for mediation, intended to resolve child custody disputes privately. “The filing was a legal formality, and the couple continues to negotiate an amicable resolution,” a source close to Joe told TMZ.

With Turner's request for a judge's intervention, details of their disagreements may become public records.

A major point of conflict arose when Sophie expressed her desire to relocate the children to England, a move Joe opposed. The dispute escalated, with Joe alleging that Sophie's relocation plans were illegal.

Sophie later dropped the lawsuit referencing the child abduction law and attempted to resolve the custody issue privately with Joe. However, it appears those negotiations have reached an impasse.

For a while, it seemed like the deliberations might actually work. Joe filed for divorce in September, saying the marriage was over. The couple played nice for a bit, even saying “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents."

But that whole "happy co-parenting" thing didn't last. Now that the divorce proceedings are back in action, who knows what kind of drama will come out!

Just when the dust seemed to settle on their divorce, Sophie Turner dropped a bombshell. Turns out, Joe Jonas was allegedly holding onto their kids' passports, keeping them from traveling to Sophie's home in England.

Talk about drama – Sophie hit back with a lawsuit faster than you can say "King of the North"! Ultimately, this unexpected twist in their story seemed to show that no one is truly ever on the same page when it comes to co-parenting.

Apparently, the two had plans to make England their permanent home before the whole divorce fiasco. They even sold their Miami mansion! So, what's with the sudden change of heart? Is it just messy divorce stuff, or is there more to the story?

The temporary custody agreement was reached in New York in October 2023, which remained in effect until January 2024. This agreement involved mediation and allowed their children to travel between the United States and the United Kingdom.

With kids living in two countries, the legal situation is a total headache. This whole case is a total cliffhanger – we'll have to wait and see who ends up on top!
