Nine newly-elected independent lawmakers join PML-N
In a significant political development on Wednesday, eight recently-elected members of the Punjab Assembly, along with an independent candidate elected for the National Assembly, announced their decision to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
During a meeting presided over by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Vice President of the PML-N and nominee for the position of Punjab chief minister, six MPAs-elect announced their decision to join PML-N including Sultan Bajwa from Nankana Sahib’s PP-132, Shazia Tareen from Lodhran’s PP-225, Mahmood Qadir from DG Khan’s PP-289, Hanif Patafi from DG Khan’s PP-288, Taimur Lali from Chiniot’s PP-94 and Ali Afghan from Layyah’s PP-283.
Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude towards the newly-elected members for joining PML-N. The members also expressed their confidence in the leadership of PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif.

"With your inclusion, the goal of prosperity of the people of Punjab will be achieved, God willing,” Maryam was quoted as saying to the newly-elected members.
She emphasised the importance of steering the province away from challenges and towards a prosperous future.
Moreover, the newly-elected members congratulated Maryam Nawaz on her nomination as the chief minister candidate for Punjab, underscoring their commitment to working towards the betterment of the province under her leadership.
Three recently-elected lawmakers from Khanewal join PML-N
Meanwhile, three recently-elected independent lawmakers from Khanewal also announced their decision to join PML-N, expressing their full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Raza Hayat Hiraj, who secured victory in Khanewal's NA-144 constituency, along with Akbar Hayat Hiraj from PP-205 and Asghar Hayat Hiraj from PP-212, met with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif to formalise their entry into the party.
During their meeting with Shehbaz Sharif, all three reiterated their commitment to the PML-N's vision and agenda. They expressed their optimism about the party's prospects and pledged to work diligently to further its objectives.
In response, Shehbaz Sharif extended his gratitude to the newly joined lawmakers for their decision to join the PML-N fold. He highlighted the importance of unity and solidarity, emphasising the need for collective efforts to address the country’s challenges.
