One year on, John Abraham says 'Pathaan' brought respect and glory back to the industry

In a poignant reflection on the first anniversary of the release of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan, John Abraham, who played the role of the antagonist in the film, expressed deep sentiments about its impact on the Hindi film industry. Speaking to ANI, John stated that the film holds nostalgic significance, marking a pivotal moment for both him personally and the entire film fraternity. He asserted that Pathaan played a crucial role in the industry's resurgence, bringing respect and glory back to Bollywood.

"Pathaan's anniversary will always be nostalgic for me personally and also for the Hindi film industry because this was the film that made us as an industry bounce back," shared John. He furthered on to state, "This film brought a lot of respect and glory back to the industry."

According to the actor, Pathaan was a game-changer, altering perceptions, emotions, and charting a new course for the Hindi film industry. The star expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he received for his portrayal of the anti-hero in the film, emphasising that the affection from the audience holds a special place in his heart. "I will always have extremely fond memories of Pathaan for this reason because this industry is my home. The amount of love I have got for Pathaan is incredible," he shared.

Looking ahead, John expressed his hope to continue being part of the YRF Spy Universe and contribute to the cinematic landscape, striving to satisfy audiences with his craft. Pathaan, considered a major blockbuster in the history of Indian cinema, completed its one-year anniversary on January 25, solidifying its place as a transformative force in Bollywood.
