Dead leopard was transported to Karachi for post-mortem

The carcass of the rare white leopard, killed near the boundaries of National Kirthar Park, was transported to Karachi, where a post-mortem examination was carried out.

The carcass is slated to undergo mummification and be displayed at the National Park Museum.

Reportedly, the remains of the leopards were relocated to the Sindh Wildlife Office in Karachi on Wednesday.

A team of veterinary doctors, under the supervision of Conservator Javed Mehar and Deputy Conservator Mumtaz Soomro, conducted measurements of the leopard, examining its nails and teeth, among other characteristics.

Subsequently, a post-mortem was performed, and samples of its body parts were preserved for laboratory testing.

Investigation Officer Ghaffar Khan Jamali, commenting on the incident, stated that the presence of the leopard was reported near a village. After being informed of its presence, the team discovered that the leopard had been killed by the villagers.

Initial investigations indicate that the killing had occurred outside the village, possibly involving more than six people.

Jamali mentioned that the leopard sustained three gunshot wounds and was approximately five years old.
