RAWALPINDI:

Seven terrorists were killed in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Sambaza Sector, Zhob district of Balochistan, near the Pak-Afghan border, the military’s media wing stated.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Monday, a fire exchange took place during an IBO.

“Own troops effectively surrounded and engaged the fleeing terrorists. Resultantly, seven terrorists were sent to hell who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.”

The ISPR stated that arms, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
“Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area,” it said, adding that the security forces were determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

On Jan 18, the armed forces struck hideouts used by terrorist organisations, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), inside Iran in an IBO, the ISPR said.

The military's media wing elaborated that the "precision strikes" were carried out using armed drones, rockets, loitering munitions and stand-off weapons.

The military codenamed the retaliatory strikes as 'Operation Marg Bar Sarmachar'.

"The targeted hideouts were being used by notorious terrorists including Dosta alias Chairman, Bajjar alias Soghat, Sahil alias Shafaq, Asghar alias Basham and Wazir alias Wazi, amongst others," the ISPR said.
