Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3' is now available on OTT for Pakistani fans

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the latest installment of the popular 'Tiger' franchise was released on Diwali 2023

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi-starrer Tiger 3 is now available on OTT for its Pakistani viewers, reports The Indian Express. The celebrated Yash Raj Films took to their social media handles to announce the film’s digital premiere by posting, “Action Mode: Activated. Tiger 3 on Prime Video.”

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 was released on Diwali 2023. The movie became the fifth installment in the production house’s spy universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan. Khan also shared the news on social media by writing, “Locked, loaded and ready! Tiger is coming.”

The film centres around the main character Tiger (Khan), his partner Zoya (Kaif), and the antagonist, Aatish Rehman (Hashmi). The film also features a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan, who reprises his role as Pathaan in the recent Tiger offering. Tiger 3 minted INR3.39 billion in India and INR4.64 billion globally. 

Although it had a strong start during the holiday period, varied reactions to the film, coupled with the 2023 ICC World Cup affected its chances of reaching the INR5 billion global mark. However, it became director Sharma and Hashmi’s highest-grossing film, and the second-highest for Kaif worldwide. It also ranked as the fourth highest-grossing film for Khan globally, according to Sacnilk.

The Kick star thanked his fans for making Tiger 3 a huge success and said, “It is quite amazing that two of my most loved characters Prem and Tiger have entertained people so much on Diwali! As an actor, I have only looked to create memories for people through my brand of cinema and I’m fortunate that they have loved me back.”

As Tiger and Zoya mark their heroic return to save the country, not everyone is sharing the excitement surrounding the film. Indian actor and critic Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, previously launched a fierce broadside against Tiger 3 for staging Pakistan as the plot’s central focus.

The critic took to social media platform X to share a series of disgruntled posts relaying his dispute, slamming producer Aditya Chopra. “Dear Adi Chopra, if you wanted to make a film about politics and the situation of Pakistan, then you could have made a Pakistani film, not a Hindi film,” he wrote.
