HARIPUR:

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has disconnected the power connections of numerous tube wells in various areas of Haripur due to unpaid dues.

The action was taken in the Railway Road, Truck Jail, Noor Colony, Chongi No 11, and other localities.

This action has left thousands of residents without access to drinking water.

Residents claimed that the TMA is unable to cover its electricity bills, a situation unprecedented in the past. Questions arise about the reasons behind the financial crisis affecting TMAs, whether it be excessive recruitment, fund generation failures, or other factors.

The residents insisted that those responsible for disrupting water supply should be held accountable.
