Ex-UC chairman candidate shot dead

Police register case while suspects remain at large

KALLAR KAHAR:

Ex-Union Council Chairman candidate Bhuchal Khurd, Malik Ghazanfar Sardar, was shot dead in Kallar Kahar on Tuesday.

According to the police, Barrister Malik Hassan Sardar, the brother of the deceased Malik Ghazanfar Sardar, while lodging an FIR in Kallar Kahar police station, told the police that he was on the driver's seat of the car while his brother Malik Ghazanfar Sardar was on the second front seat and they were waiting for the funeral prayer in front of Eid Gah Guffanwala.

Meanwhile, Shiraz Ahmed, a resident of Guffanwala, came with a pistol along with an unknown man with a Kalashnikov on a motorcycle and said that he was going to kill us. They opened fire and sped away.

Malik Ghazanfar Sardar was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

The police said that the murder took place over an old enmity.

Police registered a case on the complaint of Malik Hassan Sardar and handed over the body to the family after completing medico-legal formalities.
