Police arrest two suspected bootleggers

Three people died after allegedly taking poisonous liquor in the People’s Colony.

A case had been registered, and two suspects were arrested. The three youths were said to be relatives. One of the three youths had thrown a party during which they allegedly took liquor.

A police spokesperson confirmed the death of the youth due to allegedly taking poisonous liquor.

The deceased were identified as Fakir Hussain, Shahid and Fida Hussain.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the DPO of Vehari, Mohammad Esa Khan, reached the hospital. DPO Esa Khan said that a case was registered against three people for allegedly making and selling poisonous liquor.

The suspects, Naeem Masih and Gul Sher Masih, were arrested.

The case was registered on the complaint of a brother of the deceased Shahid.

Meanwhile, police in Khurrianwala arrested 28 suspected bootleggers and seized 970 litres of liquor during raids on Thursday. Cases were registered in accordance with the relevant provisions.

SHO Khurrianwala Inspector Ayub Sahi and ASI Yaqoob carried out raids in 266 RB and 229 RB, resulting in the arrest of four suspected dealers.
