LHC judge recuses himself from hearing PTI leader’s plea

Petitioner made respondents to federal, provincial govt, FIA, Anti-Corruption, IGP

LAHORE:

Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry recusing himself from hearing a plea, seeking details of the inquiries and cases registered anywhere against Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar avoiding his arrest on the upcoming general elections, sent it to Chief Justice LHC Muhammad Ameer Bhatti to place it before another bench.

Petitioner former governor Punjab Muhammad Azhar, father of Hammad Azhar, filed this petition in LHC seeking details of the cases with further request to the court to pass directions to concerned quarters for not harassing the petitioner.

Petitioner Azhar made respondents to federal and provincial governments, FIA, Anti-Corruption, Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab and others.

He contended in the petition that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced its schedule for upcoming general elections and every citizen has the right to participate in the elections.
