PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has implemented a strict prohibition on the sale and purchase of Ammonium Nitrate and Calcium Ammonium Nitrate fertilizers within the newly merged districts of the province. Fertilizer dealers have been explicitly cautioned that any discovery of these items in their inventories will result in substantial fines and the confiscation of their entire stock.

All dealers, including large-scale suppliers and wholesalers, have received explicit notification regarding the ban and are expected to comply with its directives.

Notably, dealers and wholesalers will be permitted to engage in the trade of all other types of fertilizers, provided they possess a valid government license, with the exclusion of Ammonium Nitrate and Calcium Ammonium Nitrate.

Despite regulations stipulated in licenses issued by the agriculture department, instances of some dealers violating rules and engaging in the trade of these prohibited fertilizers have been identified.

To address this, a recent notification from the home and tribal affairs department has reinforced a comprehensive ban in the newly merged tribal districts. Authorities are instructed to rigorously enforce this prohibition.
