Substandard fertilisers, pesticides irk minister

Abdul Haleem Qasuria orders officials to monitor market

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Agriculture Minister Abdul Haleem Qasuria on Tuesday directed action against dealers involved in the sale of substandard fertilisers and pesticides.

While presiding over a meeting regarding ongoing developmental projects, he stated that the department should aim to initiate projects dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Extension Director General Dr Jan Muhammad, Merged Districts DG Dr Murad Khan and project directors of various developmental initiatives.

The meeting with high officials focused on exchanging ideas related to agricultural projects.

The provincial minister expressed the need to ensure food security in the province by cracking down on the sale of substandard seeds and fertilisers in the markets by taking necessary action against those responsible.

He also instructed department officials to closely monitor the markets in this regard.
