A resident of Warispura attempted suicide by cutting his neck with a blade, resulting in injuries that required immediate medical attention.

The incident unfolded in the Warispura Goal area of Batala Colony Police Station.

The 40-year-old Liaqat Ali, drug addict, was found in a distressed state inside a barber shop.

In a desperate act, he used a blade to cut his throat.

The Rescue 1122 team promptly arrived at the scene, providing initial medical assistance before transferring him to Civil Hospital.

Liaqat Ali's condition is reported to be critical, and medical professionals are working to stabilize him.

The local police, under the direction of SHO Batala Legal Sub-Inspector Junaid Gujjar, initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to initial reports, Liaqat Ali, who was sleeping inside the shop, resorted to self-harm.

The discovery was made when the shop opened in the morning, revealing the distressing scene.

The police are actively probing the matter to ascertain the factors leading to the attempted suicide.
