The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has initiated training sessions for election staff, commencing today, December 13.
The training is designed for district returning officers (DROs), returning officers (ROs), and assistant returning officers (AROs) who were recently appointed to supervise the election process.
As per the ECP spokesperson's statement released on Tuesday, a total of 859 individuals—comprising DROs, ROs, and AROs—will participate in this training programme.
The ECP plans to conduct a one-day training session for 142 DROs on December 16, 2023, at the respective provincial headquarters. The allocation includes 40 DROs for Punjab, 36 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), 36 for Balochistan, and 30 for Sindh.
The ROs will receive electoral training at the divisional level, spanning from December 13 to 15. The appointed count stands at 441 ROs for Punjab, 160 for the K-P, 191 for Sindh, and 67 for Balochistan province.
Senior officers will lead the training for the DROs and ROs, covering electoral procedures, election laws, and administrative aspects related to elections.
In a significant update, the ECP issued notifications on Monday, December 11, appointing DROs, ROs, and AROs for 859 constituencies across national and provincial legislatures.
