The central parliamentary board of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has finalized candidates for the upcoming February 8 general elections in both the National and Provincial Assemblies. The announcement was made by Abdul Wasey, the Secretary-General of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa JI, during a candidates' convention in Peshawar.
Notable selections include former MNA Hussain Awan, who secured a ticket for the Provincial Assembly from Peshawar, and the repositioning of former provincial minister Hafiz Hashmat, now slated for the National Assembly instead.
A consistent lineup features JI leaders such as Ameer Sirajul Haq, Provincial Ameer Professor Muhammad Ibrahim, Sahibzada Haroon Rashid, Sahibzada Tariqullah, and former MNA Abdul Akbar Chitrali, who are set to contest from their respective National Assembly constituencies.

For the Provincial Assembly, the roster includes former minister Inayatullah Khan and former K-P assembly speaker Bakht Jehan Khan, along with former members Muhammad Amin, Sirajud Din, Azazul Mulk Afkari, and Saeed Gul.
Jamaat-e-Islami's prominent provincial leader, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim, is set to run from Bannu for both National and Provincial Assemblies. Abdul Wasey mentioned that ongoing consultations are in progress for constituencies with pending candidate names, assuring that announcements for those areas will be made shortly after central parliamentary board approval.
