Suspect killed ‘by accomplices’ firing’

Police claims suspect being involved in more than 50 cases of murder, kidnapping and robbery.

KALA SHAH KAKU:

A suspect, who had been in the custody of the Muridke Police, was killed “by the firing of his accomplices” in an alleged encounter.

Police claimed that Imran alias Mani had been involved in more than 50 cases of murder, kidnapping and robbery. A police team, led by the DPO of Sheikhupura, Zahid Nawaz Marwat, the DSP of Muridke, Haji Malik Tahir Siddique, and the SHO of Saddar Muridke, Umar Shiraz Ghuman, was on its way to arrest the accomplices of Imran alias Mani upon the latter’s identification.

As the police team reached the Narowal Road, the accomplices of Imran allegedly opened fire on it. In an hour-long exchange of fire with the police, Imran alias Mani was killed by the alleged firing of his accomplices. Police vehicles were damaged in the firing, but the policemen remained unhurt.

One of the accomplices of the slain accused was injured, who was whisked away by his accomplices.
