The recent episode of Karan Johar's infamous talk show, Koffee With Karan, brought back the 90s galore. The latest guests to grace the coveted couch were none other than Karan's 1998 blockbuster, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai stars, Kajol and Rani Mukerji.

The aforementioned episode saw the renowned stars delve into their professional and personal lives, with Rani and Kajol revealing the films they had rejected. While Kajol rose to fame with the 1995 hit, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, what many don't know is that the popular onscreen couple was set to star in another popular film before KKHH

In a surprising revelation, Kajol shared that she had rejected the 1997 rom-com, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, opposite Shah Rukh. The Lust Stories 2 actor went on to comment that she had rejected 3 Idiots and Mohra as well. On this, Rani revealed that she also regrets rejecting Aamir Khan's award-winning film, Lagaan

Karan then revealed that eight other divas had already turned down the role of Rani in KKHH before he finalized the latter for the character of Tina. The filmmaker said, "The funniest thing that happened was I narrated Rani the film when eight girls had said no and I was like 'Mujhe yeh short skirt pehenke karna padega Tina ka role'. After the narration, she (Rani) said can you come to my room. I had never been invited to a girl’s room."

When asked which film of her husband, Ajay Devgn's Kajol would have liked to star in, she responded humorously, “I don’t know if I would love to be a part of it, but I would love to be a fly on the wall on the first part of Golmaal. I would love to see the interaction in the first part. The first Golmaal, I think, was when the whole comedy started, and I think they were fantastic in that film, and I’m sure they had a lot of outtakes that I would have loved to see.”
