An elderly man who was going to attend a wedding in Multan was kidnapped for ransom.
A video of the suspected kidnappers torturing the abducted man with chains and ropes was sent to the victim’s family on WhatsApp, upon which they contacted the police.
Umar Farooq filed a case contending that his father, 55-year-old Abdul Waheed, went to Multan to attend a wedding. Meanwhile, a woman called Waheed in Multan to settle some dispute and reportedly kidnapped him, moving him to an unknown location.

Umar his father's friend, Abdullah, who informed him that his father did not attend the wedding.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers filmed a video torturing Waheed with chains and ropes and sent the video to Umar and his family. The abductors demanded Rs4 million for the release of his father.
DSP Tandlianwala Mian Masood Nazir said that the family members are negotiating with the kidnappers and cannot take any steps until the safe rescue of the victim. Teams have been formed to recover the hostage and working to track down the suspects.
