Imam-e-Kaaba urges global action to halt Gaza atrocities

Dr Saleh urges global intervention; emphasises sanctity of human life in Islam

While emphasising the sanctity of human life, Imam-e-Kaaba Professor Dr Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid condemned the atrocities in Gaza, calling upon the international community to intervene. He expressed these views during a special address at the international conference on ‘Protection of Human Life in Shariah and Law’ held at the Faisal Masjid Campus of International Islamic University.

He stressed that the killing of human life was forbidden in Islam, expressing deep concern over the ongoing massacre of Muslims in Gaza. He urged the international community to respect the sanctity of human lives and take immediate action to halt the crimes against humanity. Imam-e-Kaaba described the situation in Gaza as the darkest period in human history. He called for an end to the cruelty faced by the Muslims of Palestine and offered prayers for their relief and well-being.

Dr Saleh highlighted the special attention Islam placed on the sanctity of human life, emphasising that Islamic Shariah and law accorded special importance to human life without any distinction of belief. He reiterated that Islam strictly prohibited the unjust loss of human life.
Imam-e-Kaaba commended the efforts of International Islamic University President Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and the university for organising the conference on such a crucial topic.

He called for increased cooperation among educational and research institutions in Muslim countries. The Imam-e-Kaaba said that the people of Pakistan were loving and Pakistan was a hospitable country. He said that both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan had deep-rooted historical and brethren ties. On the occasion, caretaker Education Minister Madad Ali Sindhi said that the whole of Pakistan was grateful to Imam-e-Kaaba for his visit.

He said that the youth had the ability to change the destiny of the Ummah.

The minister said that cooperation with the International Islamic University would continue. Referring to the situation in Palestine, he said that the Ummah was saddened by the plight of Palestine. He said that Islam taught coexistence and peace, adding that the Ministry of Education would work together with the International Islamic University on the subject of Siratun Nabi (PBUH). Expressing deep gratitude, Dr Samina Malik, rector of the university, extended thanks to Imam-e-Kaaba for gracing the conference with his presence.

She acknowledged the invaluable support of Khadam-e-Harmeen Sharifeen and the government of Saudi Arabia, emphasising their crucial role in the university's endeavours. Samina also appreciated the transformative efforts led by Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and his team, highlighting the positive changes witnessed at the university. President Alotaibi deemed the day blessed with Imam-e-Kaaba's participation in the conference.

He expressed heartfelt thanks to the custodians of Al-Haramain Al-Sharifeen for their continued cooperation, underscoring the significance of their support. The event was attended by distinguished individuals, including the Honourable Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Said Al-Maliki, vice presidents of the university, diplomats from several countries, and a substantial number of teachers and students.

Imam-e-Kaaba is visiting Islamabad especially to participate in the International Islamic University’s conference. He will also lead Friday prayers at Faisal Mosque.
