SBCA adopts zero-tolerance policy in compliance with court orders

KARACHI:

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) continued with its operation against unauthorised construction in different parts of the city, as mandated by court orders.

Heavy machinery was employed for demolitions, with SBCA officials encountering resistance from the area people during the anti-encroachment drive.

The operation targeted Plot No. 39 in Sir Syed Colony, Orangi Town, among other locations.

Notably, Plot No. 4/5 in Nazimabad and Surjani Town SR 23 Sector 4D were also addressed by the SBCA. Despite facing opposition, the police successfully maintained order during the drive.
Demolition efforts against illegal construction persist in various areas of the city.

DG-SBCA Ishaq Khoro emphasised an escalation of operation against illegal structures, asserting a zero-tolerance policy. He warned of departmental consequences for officers failing to take action against unlawful construction, emphasising the commitment to upholding court decisions in the ongoing operations.
