Renowned Pakistani actor and musician Farhan Saeed, formerly a prominent member of the popular musical group Jal alongside Atif Aslam, recently delved into his past experiences with Bollywood film offers. In an interview with Something Haute, Saeed discussed the time he and the band were gaining popularity in India.

The Mere Humsafar star recalled receiving numerous acting offers during their performances in the country, attributing the interest to the success of the band. “When we used to perform as Jal in India, I used to get a lot of acting offers. You know, in India, whoever rises to prominence invites acting offers,” Saeed shared.

“We used to laugh at it and refuse those offers,” he divulged humorously. Notably, the musician recounted an incident where he almost signed a Bollywood film. Saeed disclosed, “I was locked in a movie with Mithun Chakroborthy's son. We met and they finalized me for a musician's role.”

Reflecting on the opportunity in retrospect, he expressed gratitude for eventually turning it down, stating, "Thankfully, I didn't do it.” The actor-musician further revealed that the film, initially set to mark the debut of both him and actress Urvashi Rautela, took an unexpected turn.

“Urvashi Rautela and I were supposed to debut with the movie. Both of us backed out together from the project after having a conversation on a call,” Saeed added. “We were like we don’t think we should take on this project,” he said about his conversation with the Pagalpanti actor.

As fate would have it, the film eventually flopped, affirming their decision to back out together. While Saeed's acting portfolio is embellished with successful TV dramas, the actor’s venture into film took its time. The Suno Chanda star was initially set to play the leading role alongside Kubra Khan in Karachi Se Lahore 3.

The third installment in Wajahat Rauf's successful series, preceded by Karachi Se Lahore and Lahore Se Aagey, would have marked Saeed’s feature film debut. However, the actor had to withdraw from the project citing personal engagements. “I was offered the lead in Karachi Se Lahore 3 with Kubra Khan but unfortunately I had to opt out because of my music tours and concerts that I had already committed to,” he told Something Haute.

In 2019, news broke out of his debut lead role in the romantic comedy Tich Button, co-produced by his wife Urwa Hocane under their collaborative production venture, Shooting Star Studio. The film’s release was halted for some time before it hit the big screen in 2022.
