CM praises robotic surgery at SIUT

Robotic system with nearly 700 successful cases

KARACHI:

Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Justice (rtd) Maqbool Baqar, paid a visit to the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) where he met the renowned Dr Adeeb Rizvi, and observed a live robotic surgery in the Robotic Surgery Theater.

During the operation, he posed various questions related to the robotic surgery process, particularly in the treatment of cancer patients.

Following the surgery, the chief minister attended a presentation on robotic surgery and further probed into different aspects of this innovative medical technology.

On the occasion, Dr Adeeb Rizvi shared that SIUT began performing robotic surgeries in 2017, initially by sharing a robotic system at Civil Hospital, with nearly 700 successful cases.
