ISLAMABAD:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has frozen the voter lists, meaning that no further additions or removals of voters can be made in preparation for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.

According to sources within the oversight authority for polls, the ECP will finalise the voter lists by November 25, the date on which the lists will also be published.

The "voter lists publication" refers to the process of making the voter lists, which contain the names and details of eligible voters, available to the public.

This typically involves making the voter lists accessible or visible to the public, usually through various means such as official websites, public notice boards, or other forms of communication.

The publication of voter lists is an essential part of the electoral process, as it allows citizens to verify their registration and ensure the accuracy of the electoral rolls, which is crucial for fair and transparent elections.

The maintenance of accurate and up-to-date electoral rolls is a critical aspect of the electoral process, as any errors or inaccuracies can lead to disenfranchisement or other issues in elections. Election authorities typically make efforts to periodically update and clean the voter lists to ensure accuracy.
