The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police suddenly intensified its crackdown against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders across the province as the homes of former provincial ministers Kamran Bangash and Anwar Zaib Khan were raided in Peshawar and Bajaur on Friday and both were arrested.

On Saturday, Kamran Bangash applied for bail. He requested the anti-terrorism court to grant him bail, saying the police had registered a baseless case against him.

Chamkani SHO was the complainant in the case and terrorism as well as attempt to murder sections of the PPC had been included in the FIR.

On Friday, former provincial minister Anwar Zaib was also arrested on the charges of taking out a rally to celebrate the release of former PTI MNA Gul Zafar Khan.
