KURIANWALA:

Body of a student of Grade V was found in a canal. The police retrieved the body and had it shifted to the hospital for a postmortem examination. Police also detained two suspects for questioning.

Twelve-year-old Saim, a resident of Sadiq Akbar Town under the jurisdiction of Mansoorabad Police Station, had ventured outside his home to play.

After a prolonged absence, his friends, Samar and Sagar, reported that he had left to play video games, but he was kidnapped by assailants who tried to molest him and later took his life by breaking his neck.

His body was dumped near the Novelty Bridge on Samandri Road.

The Mansoorabad Police Station had previously registered a case based on the statement from the child's father regarding his abduction and initiated an intensive search operation.

The discovery of Saim's body prompted an immediate response from the SP of Madina Town, the DSP of Sargodha Road and the SHO of Mansoorabad who arrived at the scene and retrieved the child's body and had it transferred to the mortuary unit at the Allied Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Concurrently, the police took Saim's friends, Samar and Sagar, into custody for interrogation.
