PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Health Department has achieved a significant milestone in its institutional reforms by successfully launching the Human Resource Management and Information System (HRMIS). This initiative involves the digitization of employee records across the entire province, marking a crucial step towards efficient management of human resources.

Under the HRMIS framework, the department has introduced verifiable processes for e-posting, transfers, appointments, and leave orders. Furthermore, this system has been seamlessly integrated with the Provincial Public Service Commission and the Post Graduate Medical Institute. The Health Department has also issued directives to all its subordinate bodies, urging them to adopt and implement this new system.

During a briefing to caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan, it was revealed that the Health Department employs approximately 90,000 individuals.

The absence of digital employee records had presented various challenges in making policy decisions and managing human resources effectively. The need for a reliable digital record of employees had long been recognized.

Importantly, it was highlighted that the Health Department’s IT team developed the HRMIS at no cost to the government, demonstrating their commitment to efficiency and innovation.

Chief Minister Azam Khan described the launch of HRMIS as a commendable initiative that would enhance the transparency and efficiency of HR-related matters within the department. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of Advisor to CM on Health Dr. Riaz Anwar and his team, foreseeing improved overall performance in the department as a result of this system.

The briefing was attended by key figures including Advisor to CM on Health Dr. Riaz Anwar, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Secretary Health Mahmood Aslam, and others.
